There are plenty of cultural riches here in the hi-dez… and “culture” applies to a wide scope of delicious things like BBQ and assemblage art parks.  My pals at Lost at E Minor just posted two pieces I wrote for them:

For the BBQ, Pappy & Harriet’s is the place.  Their mesquite meats and house made BBQ sauce are the bomb.  I don’t usually drink beer, but any beer in a jam jar at Pappy’s just tastes better.

Noah Purifoy passed away several years ago, but his Desert Art Museum of Assemblage Sculpture is still standing tall and weathering the elements on a ten acre site off the beaten path in Joshua Tree.  It is un-manned and deathly quiet and walking through the site is like nothing else.
